A bit about the website.

This website is a temporary one until my new/bigger site is up in the next few months.

A bit about me

I am a multi-faceted artist with a passion for ideas and diversity. I recycle materials from scrapyards, refuse dumps, charity shops and have a penchant for using newspapers and magazines in collages and sculptures.

I am interested in male/female politics and body form, represented through figurative charcoal and pastel works, as well as 3D structures.

Nothing Wasted

A lot of materials used in these artworks are things that have been discarded and thrown away without a second thought.

My recycling journey has allowed a discovery of shape, form and beauty in the most ordinary. Primarily I have used newspapers, egg boxes, car parts and old jeans to create the pieces.

Colouring egg boxes reveals exciting pattern formations and placement of the boxes offers many design configurations. Cutting up old jeans inspires experimental discovery, showing “Denim goes on forever…I have knitted, formed balls and saved all my off – cuts ready for the next piece so nothing is wasted.

I hope to create an awareness and respect for wasted materials and an appreciation of our environment.

May you enjoy the simplicity and waste not! For purchases see reception or phone Sandra Ehlers on: 01702 322519 Email: sandraehlers@hotmail.com
